As the summer winds down to an end in the next few weeks, it's time to think ahead to fall and winter months. Contrary to popular belief, the fall and winter months are very busy months for selling homes. In fact, they are some of our busiest months for taking on new listings of homes for sale.
However, we do need to change our marketing approach once we hit those cold weather months. As the snow begins to pile up, one critical mistake most sellers make is they do not plan ahead for listing homes for sale in the fall and winter.
It's critically important to understand that when marketing your home to potential buyers, you're not just highlighting the interior features like kitchens, baths and basements. But you're also highlighting the exterior features as well like decks and patios and even the simple landscaping like trees, shrubs and flowers. Don't forget the adage that rings true for many - People come to Steamboat for the Winter, but stay for the summer!
Think about how beautiful these features outside your home look in the summer months. The winter months? With the amount of snow we hope to see this year, it can often be difficult to discern many beautiful aspects of your home! We encourage our seller clients to let us come out and take the exterior photos while it's still nice out to ensure we have beautiful outdoor photos of your home to get buyers excited about it even in the colder winter months.
If you think there is a possibility you will sell your home in the next 8 months, reach out to us if you'd like to set an appointment for us to come out and photograph the outside of your home now!
